Boise School District is pleased to announce that Daniel Sinclair has been named Head Varsity Swim Coach at Timberline High School. Bringing a dynamic blend of experience, energy, and athlete-centered coaching, Coach Sinclair is set to lead the program into an exciting new chapter.
Coach Sinclair joins Timberline with over 12 years of coaching experience, complemented by a strong background as a competitive swimmer. Over the course of seven years, he trained and competed at a high level, building a foundation that continues to inform his coaching philosophy today. In addition to his work with swim teams, Coach Sinclair has also trained triathletes, specializing in developing their swim performance for competition.
“I am very excited to be joining Timberline High and bringing new energy to the team,” said Coach Sinclair. “My goal is to help every swimmer feel prepared, confident, and excited as they head into their season.”
Coach Sinclair’s approach emphasizes both structure and support, focusing on the comprehensive development of each athlete. His coaching priorities include refining techniques across all four competitive strokes, building aerobic endurance and race readiness, and improving critical skills such as starts, turns, and overall efficiency in the water. Central to his philosophy is a commitment to individualized coaching, meeting each swimmer where they are and helping them reach their full potential.
Beyond performance, Coach Sinclair is dedicated to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture. He aims to create an environment where athletes feel supported, celebrated, and motivated to push themselves to new heights.
Timberline High School looks forward to a strong upcoming season under Coach Sinclair’s leadership and the continued growth of its swim program.
Community members and families are invited to meet Coach Sinclair at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, in the Timberline High School Library, where he will share his vision for the program and plans for the season.
